Initial Consultation - Putting You At Ease

 

You can easily schedule an introductory call with me via my website. My goal in our first conversation will be to learn about you and your family.  In particular, I want to understand your hopes and aspirations for your son and his circumcision services. I want you to feel at ease and to take all the time you need to ask your questions, voice any concerns, and talk about the procedure in depth. I strive to give my clients all the information and support they need to make informed and confident decisions for their child's circumcision services.

 

One of the biggest advantages of having a personal Mohel perform the circumcision service for you is that I am not a faceless intern or doctor who simply carries out a procedure behind closed doors. I aim to be a trusted friend and advisor who accompanies and supports you throughout this highly emotional and meaningful time and beyond.

 

 

 

 

Initial Call to the Mohel

 

The ideal time to call a Mohel and have a conversation with him is as soon as you know it is a boy. The decision of whether to circumcise and whom to use for the procedure is a deeply personal one and you should do whatever possible to make that decision together in a peaceful, quiet moment. It is preferable to avoid the pressures of making the decision after or during birth, and I, therefore, encourage parents to call as soon as they know it is a boy to find the best time to complete a mohel circumcision for your newborn .

 

 

Scheduling - Selecting An Opportune Time

 

Once you have decided to go ahead and have me perform the circumcision service on your beloved son, we will set a mutually convenient day for the procedure to take place.  

 

Please note that the earlier you let me know about your new arrival,  the easier it will be for me to offer you your preferred date for the event. The Mohel is usually the third person parents contact to share the news of the baby’s birth.

 

In almost all cases, the best time to circumcise a newborn is after the eighth day (following birth). Not only has this practice been a long-standing tradition in Judeo-Christian families, it is also deemed a time when the newborn is out of danger and ready for this procedure.  Additionally, performing the procedure at such a young age ensures there will be no recollection of the event in the future. It is quickly over, healed, and forgotten!
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Circumcision Service Procedure - welcoming your son Into the fold

 

• My arrival - The big day has arrived. It's normal to feel nervous, excited and emotional. That's why I’ll arrive nice and early and make sure we have time to talk and connect before I begin.

 

• Questions and chatting - We will spend some time going over the procedure so you feel informed, educated and are comfortable with it. I will also talk you through the aftercare process and make sure you have time to ask any questions.

 

• Setting up - I’ll set up my tools in accordance with my exacting standards of hygiene and cleanliness.

 

• Prayers - I offer to say a short prayer for your son’s well being and that of your family. The content of the prayer and your wishes for the spiritual aspects of the event can be discussed in our initial phone conversation. The prayer can be found below.

 

• Circumcision - The circumcision procedure itself takes less than two minutes. That really is it! Now you can breathe….

 

• Reassurance - Don’t worry, I don't just pack up and leave afterwards.  I’ll stick around to ensure everything is ok and to reassure you all. Once everyone is happy and confident, I’ll say my goodbyes but I’ll be at the other end of the phone line if you need me!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NO Vitamin K! No Unnecessary Medication

Many of my clients do not like to administer medications to their infant son unnecessarily.

 

A common practice in hospitals is to give babies a Vitamin K shot before the circumcision service to enhance clotting and reduce blood loss. Since I usually find the best time to circumcise a newborn is after the eighth day when a baby's clotting mechanism is already working. My babies seldom require a Vitamin K shot. For many parents, this a distinct advantage for choosing a traditional approach. (If there is a hereditary blood clotting disorder in your family, it is imperative that you share the information with me)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Aftercare and Follow Up  - With You All The Way!

 

After the circumcision service is done, you will not be left to deal with the care on your own!

Before I leave, I guide you through the aftercare process and make sure you know what to look out for. I’ll also make myself available to you on the phone and by text message and I encourage you to reach out to me with any and every question or concern.

Even if I don't hear from you, I’ll get in touch after a day or two to see how everyone is doing.

I pride myself on the level of genuine care and concern I offer the families I work with as well as my friendship and availability even after the procedure is over.

 

 

I Come To You - In the Comfort of Your Home

 

It is my sincere belief that the ideal location to perform a baby’s circumcision service is at home. One of the reasons I enjoy performing a circumcision service in the family’s own home, is that it is a much more peaceful and calm situation for the baby and parents alike. The contrast between a hospital circumcision and a home-based one is stark.  I feel privileged that I can travel to you and be with you in your own home and offer a warm, personalized and caring service that is a far cry from the clinical coldness of a hospital setting. There is much to be said about giving the mother an opportunity to nurse her son at home immediately after the circumcision. I feel strongly that after circumcision services, a baby should be able to rest in his own bed rather than suffer the discomfort of being transferred in a car-seat from the clinic back to the home.

May it be your will, God in heaven, that out of Your loving kindness grant Your mercy and love towards by beloved wife (add her name) who is now going through labor and in intense pain.

God who is full of mercy may You take her out from her darkness to the great light. I hereby accept upon myself to send charity to the land of Israel and In this merit and in the merit of my wife’s kindness, may you redeem her into a place of blessing and light.

May our child be born into this world alive healthy and well. Just as you listened to the prayers of King David during his times of distress so too may You hear and listen to my prayer at this moment. I give thanks to you for all that you have done for us in the past. Blessed are you God the one who hears our supplication.
